Our website uses a self-registration process. If you are not logged on, you will see a logon-box where you can enter username and password. Two lines below the Login-button, you will see the line 'No account yet? Register'. If you don't have an account yet, click on 'Register'. You will be taken to a form.
Please read the information there. If you are not a paid-up member of The Hamburg Players e.V., do not try to register, but apply for membership first. You will find more information about becoming a member and the application-form for download here: http://www.hamburgplayers.de/about-us/membership.
If you are a member already and are sure you paid your fee, fill in the required fields (those with the orange exclamation-mark sign). Choose a username and a password. Fill in the password twice to make sure you didn't make any typing-mistakes. Then click 'Register'. Your information will be saved in a database, the passwords will be encrypted, I will not be able to learn anything about your passwords.
A few moments later, you will receive an email. This email will contain a link. You'll have to click on that link, which will take you back to the website. This link will be generated for you only. So when you visit the link, the software running on our website will know that the email reached you. Thus it is verified that a) the email address you specified was correct, and b) that you really own the address.
So far everything happened automatically, I was not involved at all. Only after you clicked on that confirmation-link, I am notified that we have a new user applying for access. As soon as I can, I'll then check the registration. If neccessary I'll double-check with our secretary and our treasurer that you really are a member and paid. Allow me a few hours (or days if worst comes to worst), I am not doing this full-time.
If everything went well, I will approve your request and you will get another email informing you that you now have access. You can then logon.
All this may sound a little complicated. But it is neccessary, as I don't want to know anything about your passwords. They should be kept secret, even from me. Just try, it isn't all that difficult.
Henrik
