As the Club is based in Germany, we are an "eingetragener Verein" (a registered society). To participate in our activities, you need to become a member and pay your yearly membership fee. But don't worry, the fee is very reasonable!
The aims of the group are to give enjoyment to all those interested in the various aspects of theatre, amateur theatre in particular, and to stage three full-length productions a year in the English language. The group is run by a committee that consists of six elected members plus another two members to act as Hon. Treasurer & Hon. Secretary. Membership is open to anyone with some knowledge of and interest in the English language, irrespective of nationality or period of residence in Hamburg and its surrounding areas.
The annual membership fee is €45.00 for families, €30.00 for single membership and €15.00 for students and those living over 200 km from Hamburg.
Membership fees are due promptly when joining the group and subsequently on 1 September each year in order to maintain voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting and to be covered by our insurance for our activities.
So please don't forget to pay in time!
As a paid-up member you can participate in various activities such as social get-togethers, workshops, playreadings and - of course - our productions on stage. You also are insured during productions. In fact the latter is the reason why we must insist you becoming a member before you can participate in a show, be it on stage, backstage or front of house.
How to become a member
Becoming a member is easy, just fill in the membership form, and pay your fee. If you want to make things easier for us and you, you can participate in a direct debit scheme that will make sure that you won't forget to pay once a year. The direct debit slip can be found at the bottom of the membership form from now on.
Please note that the acceptance of your membership application is subject to the committee's approval.
